A GEORGE III IRISH SILVER COFFEE POT
MAKER'S MARK OF MATTHEW WEST, DUBLIN, 1774

Baluster, on spreading circular base with leaf band, the body chased with scrolls, foliage, rocaille, drapery and laurel garlands and with portrait medallions, with fluted scroll spout and wood scroll handle, the hinged cover with conforming decoration and bud finial, one side engraved with a coat-of-arms, the other with a crest, each within a chased ribbon-tied leaf oval, with MAE C. PLANT 1917 engraved under base, marked near rim and on cover
