In the Charles I style, each on fluted quatrefoil base with molded rim and chased with scrolls and pinecone with stiff leaves rising to a knopped and openwork scroll stem with quatrefoil shell flange, the quatrefoil socket with shaped removable nozzle, each engraved with a monogram, marked under bases and nozzles, stamped CRICHTON BROS. NEW YORK & LONDON--11in. (27.9cm.) high

These candlesticks are copies of Charles II examples in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Another set of four, also by Crichton Brothers, are displayed at Waddesdon Manor, Buckinghamshire, while a silver-gilt set is in a private Argentine collection and illustrated in Thieleman et al., Mesas de Buenos Aires, 1994, p. 156.
