Each fluted vase form, on spreading openwork grapevine and scroll base, the lower body applied with rocaille and grape leaves, with two entwined branch handles, the shaped molded and everted rim with flowers at intervals and applied grapevine below, with removable liners, engraved with armorials, marked under bases and on liners

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Craig quarterly with those of Gibson, as borne by Sir James Gibson-Craig, 1st Bt., born in 1765. He married in 1796 Anne, daughter of J. Thomson, who died in 1837, he assumed the additional surname and arms of Craig in virtue of the entail made by Robert Craig dated August 19, 1818. He died in 1850.
