Each vase form on spreading circular base chased with swirling flutes rising to a stem with flange and a part-fluted body with tied-ribbon laurel swags above, the two loop handles with grotesque mask join, with gadrooned rim, the part-fluted dome cover with bud finial, the covers engraved with the inscription The Gift of the High Sheriff of Cheshire to his Wife. 1951 and Humphrey Bagnall Vernon to his Wife Sibyl Mason Vernon. 1952, each engraved with a crest, marked on sides and under covers
