A 3pp. a.l.s. from George Cruikshank, dated Hampstead Octr. 26th 1870, to [Richard] Redgrave, asking for his influence in the appointment of Thomas Johnston, as surgeon in Glasgow. 'Mr. Johnston is well known in Glasgow as a Gentleman of superior ability and of great moral worth -- and I must add as a reason of preference, other things being equal, that he has a family of five daughters and two sons'; a small pencil drawing (3½ x 2½in.) attributed to Robert Cruikshank; three other items relating to the Cruikshanks; a memorial card for Sir Edwin Landseer; and a collection of 8 a.l.s by Edwin, John, Charles and Thomas Landseer.
