A 40ll. autograph album, sm. 4to, contemporary red morocco, gilt (clasp lacking), of musical, operatic, theatrical and also of broad social and literary interest, subjects include Jenny Lind (autograph on large loosely-inserted sheet, dated Gottingen 5 Feb 1850 , with musical notation; a 2pp. a.l. signed Jenny Goldschmidt, dated 12 June 1861, to [John] Murray); Fannky Kemble (a 4pp. a.l.s., dated 98 Eaton Place, Belgrave Square, Tuesday 16th [no year], to Mr. Delane, editor of The Times, seeking to know if he will publish her reply to an article, loosely-inserted); Charles Gounod (cut out autograph dated 18 Juin '71, laid down), W.C.Macready (1p. a.l.s. dated July 27 1854 to (?) J. Magrath), Adelina Patti (cut out autograph, laid down), Charles Kean (3pp. a.l.s. on 4 integral leaves, dated 16 Feb. 1853, to [John] Delane, thanking him for his 'notice of my Macbeth in the Times ... Do come & see it', final leaf laid down); Duke of Wellington ( Coutts cheque, dated 30 Sept. 1820, for #60 made out to himself); A.L. This album also includes a letter from John Murray, dated 50 Albermale St., Mar (?)95, to Miss Vivian, the compilor, stating that he is sending 'a few more autographs for your collection.'
