A one page a.l.s. from Princess Sophia, undated, to Mrs George, inviting her 'to come to us this evening' (head of letter singed); and a one page manuscript document dated Nov. 23 1831 and headed 'Kensington Palace -- Alterations, and additional commands of His Royal Highness the Duke of Sussex', with instructions that the 'Library, Sitting Room and Anti Room ... be fitted up with a figured paper, and gold mouldings', and the same for the 'Drawing room, Anti Recess Room and Garden Room', though an estimate had only been given for 'plain drab lining paper'; and a collection of letters from various correspondents including William Frederick, Duke of Gloucester; Helena Princesss Christian of Schleswig-Holstein, daughter of Queen Victoria (in the hand of Emily Lock); and Margaret, daughter of the Duke of Connaught, wife of Gustavus Adolphus, crown prince of Sweden.
