We never can see Mary alone and then she is a mischievious old bitch into the bargain and she ought to have gone ages ago, tho for heavens sake not a word to a soul of what I've said...'; together with another 2pp. autograph letter, signed 'Edward', dated H.Q. 14th Corps, B.E.F., June 29th, 1917, to Captain Faussett, suggesting that '...isn't it about time this bloody war ended? Heavens how sick of it we all are...', discussing the epidemic of 'engagements' and stating 'What a splendid thing abolishing the Hun name in my family and everybody must be very pleased tho it makes one laugh to think of all the new peers'; a 5pp. a.l.s. by Wallis, the Duchess of Windsor, dated 24 Boulevard Suchet, Auteuil 20.88, Wednesday, January 23rd, to Major Gray Phillips, discussing literature, illness, life in France and London '...a dull life a Princess would have!...'; and 2 other letters by Wallis Windsor and a photograph of the official residence in the Bahamas, signed 'Wallis Windsor' , 4 x 4in.
