An Indo-Persian jambiya with watered-steel blade and gilt damascened decoration, the ivory hilt carved with a figure holding a bird standing among rosettes and foliage between two plain rectangular panels, the reverse carved with a central cartouche depicting a figure before buildings between panels of birds among foliage, the scabbard decorated to one side in lacquer with figures and inset with turquoise and coloured glass on a white-metal ground to the other (small cracks to hilt, rusting to blade, scabbard chipped and worn) -- 16¼.in.long.
