A pair of gold and gun metal heart-shaped cuff links with engraved monogram, in a case, with accompanying typed note "these cuff links were made from the guns at Mafeking for Colonel W. West. his wife was sister of the Late Lord Trevor of Chirk near Oswestry. They were bequeathed on his death to his best friend Major General H.O.D. Ward. of Linley Hall, Shropshire. They then belonged to his First Footman who passed them on to the compiler of this short history 19.9.80".
