A 1950s bathing outfit comprising a one-piece bathing suit in black cotton decorated with p.v.c. polka dots, boned and draped bodice and flying panel, two matching bows, a belt, ribbon and a wrap of white cotton decorated with black p.v.c. polka dots and an ivory sequinned bathing cap in the form of a flower, the petalled edges trimmed with silver bugle beads, both suit and cap with hand-written label's stitched inside inscribed M.Monroe - designed by William Travilla and Charles Lamaire for the film There's No Business Like Show Business Twentieth Century Fox, 1954.

Donated by Elton John to a charity auction in 1990.
