A South Italian black-glazed prochous with red painted decoration, the shoulder with two female figures facing and gesticulating behind them, both advancing towards a thymaterion, the lower half with wave pattern and encircling leafy vine trail, the handle modelled in the shape of a finger with palmette underneath -- 9in. (22.4cm.) high, 4th Century B.C.; and a black glazed lebes with two high handles, the body with owl on branch on one side, and bird framed by tassled fillet on the other, the scenes separated by vine branch, details in added colour -- 5½in.
