cover 1868 (28 May) envelope (damage to flap repaired) to England "Paid via Marseilles", written by a Mr. Dufeen of the Intelligence Dept. to his wife, bearing 4a. and 8a. both cancelled "F.F." in diamond of bars and showing, on reverse, "FIELD FORCE POST OFFICE/ABYSSINIA/28 MAY" c.d.s. (year date missing due to damage), the envelope bears a poignant notation "The last letter - posted the fatal day - 28th". Dufeen was murdered by robbers on the day the letter was posted. An extremely rare high franking from the Abyssinian Field Force. Photo
