Lot Essay
The Sola was patented on 29 October 1934 and started sales in late 1938 or 1939. The camera is associated with the German Schutz-Staffel (S.S.) who used it to take rapid sequence photographs. The camera could take up to six shots at about 1½ fames per second. The camera used 16mm. film in special cassettes and the camera featured one of the first spring wound motors which could advance the whole film at one winding.
