A rare and early German hand-painted tinplate Carousel or Roundabout, possibly by Rock and Graner, with twelve detachable horses galloping two-abreast and two chariots, the central support applied with cast rosettes and painted with a windmill in mountainous landscape with lake and rushes in foreground, the conical tilt (roof) with 'barley-sugar' supports, the rounding-boards with embossed anthemion decoration, surmounted by eagle finial, with V-belt pulley and massive bevel-geared central shaft driven from external source, circa 1890 --14½in. diam., 13in. high
