A Continental gilt-metal-mounted oval porcelain inkstand on scrolling foliate feet, applied with pen rest and a baluster inkwell, decorated with gilt and "jewelled" friezes on rich blue grounds, the inkstand painted with an oval vignette of an elegant couple fishing from a river bank, possibly Sevres - 6 3/4in.
