The firm of J. and J. Meeks was active at 14 Vessey St., NY, between the dates of 1836-1855, and then moved to 699 Broadway in 1857. The firm is renown for its laminated rosewood furniture. A similar table with grapes is illustrated in Eileen and Richard Dubrow, American Furniture of the 19th Century, 1840-1880, 1983, p. 130.
