A double-sided Japanese album painted in sumi, colour, gofun and gilt on silk, each leaf depicting one of the thirty-six poets accompanied on the opposite leaf by a poem -- each leaf 10½in.x 9½in., signed Hokkyo Genkyo hitsu, sealed Genkyo, late 17th Century, cloth covers with silver mounts to the corners, each with a delicate stylized floral and foliage design, fitted wood box.
