Fer (Nicolas de): L'Atlas Curieux ou le Monde Réprésenté dans des Cartes Générales et Particulières du Ciel et de la Terre, lge. 4to and oblong 4to, Paris, chez l'Auteur, 1700 [Phillips 532], two engraved titles, 13 plates only (of 27), and 87 maps only (of 121) by De Fer, several folding and many hand-coloured in outline, including two world maps and two maps of the stars and the constellations (most individual pages of this copy comprise two pages of De Fer's text attached one above the other, map of 'Forest de Biere' torn across image, and with small section detached, some occasional damp-staining to margins and other light soiling), contemporary calf (worn); extra-illustrated with 10 double page engraved maps, hand-coloured in outline, all with a Paris imprint unless otherwise stated (the largest 790 x 500 mm.), including: l'Espagne by Sanson d'Abbeville (1708); l'Italie by Besson (1701); Graecae Pars Meridionalis and Graecae Pars Septentrionalis by De l'isle (1707-08); Allemagne/Bohemie/Suisse by Besson (1695); Flandre and Alsace by Nolin (1701 and 1703); Suède/Dannemarq/Pologne by Nolin (1691); Asia by De l'Isle (1700); Pars Orientalis by De l'Isle (1705); also, one engraved town view and plan of Maastricht, published by Jollain (circa 1695); a folding engraved plate of 'Trajan's Column' (560 x 280 mm.), published by Antonio Salamanca (Rome, fl. 1510-47); a folding engraved plan entitled Iconographia Templi Resurrectionis Domini (no date or imprint); and loosely inserted, the 2pp. of engraved advertisements: Table de l'Ordre que l'On Doit Tenir à l'Arrangement de Cet Ouvrage [Atlas Curieux] en 1703; and La Sphère Royale: Catalogue des Ouvrages du Sr. de Fer Jusqu'en l'Année 1705 (the catalogued work is the first listed).
