This attractive map is not recorded in Norwich. Its most unusual features are the small engraved national flags which 'denote the Factory's and the Place on the Coast where the Flaggs are Raised from, shews where such Factory stands, and the Names writt against the Flaggs is the Names of those Factory's'. It is possible that this map was engraved for inclusion in a government report into African gold or slavery trades.
