A set of Japanese game cards for the poem matching game 'Uta-awase', half the cards decorated in sumi, colour, gofun and gilt on paper, the majority with bijin and gentlemen seated on terraces, on the banks of a river or in landscapes, others with a variety of birds and flowers including cockerels, ducks, quails, chrysanthemums, peonies, and prunus, the rest of the game cards decorated in black and gilt with calligraphy, the object of the game being to match one half of a poem with the other; another set of similar game cards, each set in cloth covers, all contained in a fitted wood box.
