Lot Essay

The entry in the catalogue of the Pitt Rivers Museum (vol.3, p.989) which refers to the frog pendants is dated November 25, 1893 reads: Five pieces of gold ornaments, four being toad-shaped. All found in a tomb in Colombia, South America.
