A closely related clock in the Egyptian taste, executed 'pour le C.G. en Espagne', is illustrated in C. Percier and P.F.L. Fontaine, Réceuil de Décoration Intérieurs, 1812, fig. 8. The stylized falcons above the dial, representing the falcon-god Horus and possibly inspired by the reliefs at Denderah as published in 1802 by Baron Vivant Denon in his Voyage dans la Basse et la Haute Egypte, appear on a clock by Benjamin Vulliamy illustrated in J.M. Humbert, et. al., Egyptomanie, 1994, pp. 246-247.
