[FROST, ROBERT]. Order of Exercises for the Forty-First Anniversary of the Lawrence High School, Friday, July 1st, 1892. [Lawrence, Mass., 1892]. 4-page leaflet, 8vo, a few tiny tears, creased across center; in cloth slipcase with item below. FIRST EDITION, containing the first appearance of Frost's "Class Hymn" (three quatrains, on p. [3],) SIGNED BY FROST at end. The "Programme" also lists Frost as giving an "Original Declamation, with Valedictory Address -- 'A Monument to Afterthought Unveiled'" (which was published in the June issue of the High School Bulletin). "Of its several appearances in print at the time of and immediately following the actual graduation date, the inclusion of the 'Class Hymn' within this printed leaflet was, according to RF's own subsequent recollection, its first appearance"--Lathem 4; Clymer & Green, p. 81; Crane C1. Laid in is a photograph of Lawrence High School in 1892. In very good condition for such an ephemeron; VERY RARE.
