But in 1901 the bulk of the edition was discovered in the storeroom of the printer, with whom Rimbaud had left it and who had never been paid. A large number of copies had been ruined by rust and rot and these were burned in the presence of a notary"; Jackson, An Exhibition of Books Published When They Were 21 or Younger...74: "For its psychological insight and the novelty of its rhythm and use of words, this is perhaps the most remarkable achievement by a young man of nineteen here shown."
