A tortoiseshell brisé fan lacquered in various tones of gold with pheasants amongst foliage, the verso similarly decorated the guardsticks decorated with Shibayama work, one with an eagle amongst blossom, the other with butterflies amongst magnolia, signed Chikuzai - 10¾in. Japanese, late 19th century (very slightly rubbed and one guardstick carefully restored, ribbon unstuck in places)
