For a similar print dated to ca. 1690, depicting Yoshitsune in flight to the North, see Gunsaulus, "The Primitives", The Clarence Buckingham Collection of Japanese Prints Vol. I, (Chicago: The Art Institute of Chicago, 1955), no. 3, p. 14. The author mentions another illustrated by Strauss-Negbaur, illustrated in her Primitive Japanese Woodcuts who ascribes the work to Moronobu.
