The camera is a IIIa but with a film indicator in the winding knob which was introduced with the IIIf. Monté en Sarre cameras exist with both IIIa and IIIf bodies. Approximately 400 examples were assembled between 1949-1950 in the French zone of the occupied German Saar to avoid import duty into France.
