A pair of large Imari tapering oviform ribbed jars and high domed covers with ball finials decorated with large panels of figures at leisure in landscapes beside swimming ducks and ho-o in flight on a blue ground reserved with stylized flowerheads and roundels, with arch shaped panels of flowerheads and geometric patterns to the foot, the covers decorated with medallions of confronting ho-o and fan shaped panels of birds (firing crack around base of one finial and crack to cover) -- 34½in. high.
