Vividly painted in thick enamels of blue, red, green and gilt with large chevron-shaped panels of chrysanthemums framed by large phoenixes and paulownia scroll, the slanted shoulder of the vase painted with scalloped shishi medallions on a ground of lotus scroll and the neck encircled by a formal lappet collar and gilt fretwork, the foot decorated with a wide band of chrysanthemum medallions on a wave ground--17¾in. (45cm.) high, star crack to base
