MEIJI PERIOD (CIRCA 1900), SIGNED AICHI [PREFECTURE] HAYASHI ZO AND SEALED HAYASHI KODENJI
Of baluster form decorated in colored enamels on a midnight blue ground with large butterflies outlined in thick and slender silver wire, the foot and shoulders of the vase worked in similarly muted enamels of purple, blue, yellow, rust and grey-green with flowerheads and scroll beneath formal foliate bands--9¾in. (24.8cm.) high
