Two Japanese table cabinets, one of parquetry wood consisting of one large and five smaller drawers, inlaid with geometric flowerhead motifs withing triangular and square borders - 11¾ in. high; the other lacquered and gilt with engraved bronze mounts and consisting of a door and four drawers decorated in a panel of parquetry and aogai with birds among flowering prunus branches, the top and sides decorated with further foliage - 10½ in. high - both table cabinets purchased by John Lennon on his visit to Japan with The Beatles, June 30th - July 3rd, 1966.
