Lot Essay

The plate size here was the initial size adopted before being supersceded by the more conventional 45 x 107mm. stereo plate size. The Watson binocular camera was made by Bloch and sold under Watson's name. It was the subject of British patent no. 21,755 of October 1 1896 in the name of Bloch.
