It is interesting to note that the inscription in the top right of the plate reads 'Lacouriere', presumably a delivery instruction from the copper plate maker. As with the Le Repas frugal (B. 1), it seems that Picasso has made use of a previously used plate although in this case he has used the verso rather than the recto.
