A finely detailed partially planked and fully rigged model of the French 60 gun man-of-war 'Le Protecteur' built by W Watson, 1982. Measurements overall -- 42 x 53in (106.5 x 134.5cm)

With bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging and full suit of brailed up sails and deck details including carved warrior figurehead, hair rails, anchors with bound wooden stocks, heads, catheads, belaying rails and pins, capstan, deck rings and cleats, rope coils, companionways, gratings, hammock nettings and hammocks, ship's wheel, main and upper deck guns, members of the crew and carved and decorated stern gallery. The hull, partially planked to reveal ribs, is finished in beige, black and white. Stand and glazed case.
