A well detailed 1/18th inch : 1ft scale fully rigged model of the American extreme clipper 'Sovereign of the Sea's built by D McKay, East Boston, 1854 and modelled by W. Hitchcock -- 26 x 41in.(66 x 104cm)

With bound masts, yards with stun's'l booms, standing and running rigging with scale blocks and deck details including figurehead, anchors, capstan, wood capped fife rail, companionways, deck houses, hatches, buckets, barrels, stove pipe, belaying rails and pins, spare yards, ship's wheel and binnacle, two ship's boats in davits, two in chocks and other details. The hull, with decks planked in brasswood is finished in black and white and copper sheathed to the waterline and mounted on two turned brass columns on inlaid base. Brass bound glazed case
