Layard: Kate Greenaway, number 244 of 500 copies signed by John Greenaway (her brother), 4to, Edition de Luxe, 1905 [Schuster and Engen 226], with a window-mounted pencil sketch by Kate Greenaway, as called for, of a girl in a bonnet, with a parasol over her shoulder, carrying a basket, with a further study of the arm holding the parasol, and a manuscript fragment tipped in on front free-endpaper: 'Goodbye. I hope you are all well. With love, yours affectionately, Kate Greenaway', plates and illustrations by Greenaway, later crimson morocco by Sangorski and Sutcliffe for Bernard Quaritch, t.e.g., bookplate of H. & F. Fattorini.
