Hamlin, thanking him for a letter and copy of the minutes from a meeting which tried some Negro and Indian slaves who participated in an insurrection in New York in 1712. Washington, D.C., 13 March 1937. One page, small 4to, on White House stationary. "Thank you very much for that interesting letter you wrote me on March fifth, and for the photostatic copy of the Minutes of the Special Court of General Quarter Sessions for New York County, which tried the Negro and Indian slaves who participated in the insurrection in New York in 1712. That is an amazing document and I am glad to have it for my collection..."
