Following the success of De Re Vestiaria, the Estienne brothers produced, a matter of months later, the second title in their new series of children's books, which deals with Roman vessels, vases and containers of all sorts. The 'True History' of Lucian (115-200 AD) is regarded as being the first in the genre of fantastic traveller's tales which includes Gulliver's Travels and Baron Munchausen's adventures.
