Lot Essay

Jacob Locher (1471-1528) secured international fame by translating Brant's Narrenschiff into Latin. But he was also a classical scholar of renown, teaching rhetoric at Ingolstadt and Freiburg. This book reflects his teaching and is a clear exposition of the idea of Cicero and Demosthenes. The first edition was published a year earlier in 1517.
