Lot Essay

The first vol. of the 3 vol. Opera published by Aldus 1501-02. The tripartite tool is used also on an Arnaldo de Villanova, 1509, in the Henry Davis collection at the British Library (De Marinis, La Legatura Artistica, I, pl. 106, no. 610) and on an Italian Bible formerly in the Landau collection (ibid., pl. 107, no. 611).
