THE PROPERTY OF THE LATE J.W.M TULLOCH, ESQ.

The following lots are by Charles James Theriat. Theriat was born in New York in 1860 and studied and worked in Paris under Lefebvre and Boulanger. Little is known of the artist's life or work as little has been recorded about the artist and very few pictures have been offered for sale at auction. The few pictures that Theriat exhibited were well received, including the Paris Salon 1896, an Honorable mention in the Paris Exposition 1899 and a bronze medal in the Buffalo Exposition 1901. Theriats' work shows a strong sense colour and captures the light and atmosphere of the subject matter with a clarity and skill that deserves greater recognition.
