A large Japanese kakemono painted in sumi, colour and gofun on paper depicting a multitude of cranes standing on the banks of a meandering river, others in flight above mist shrouded mountains and on the branches of overhanging pine trees, a stag and recumbent doe on the other side of the river -- 132in.x 54in., signed Heian Zaisei (Hara Zaisei ? - 1810).
