The decoration on this urn is by Anker Lund (1840-1922) who was appointed in 1871 to be artistic manager of the factory. He studied Antique collections in various museums including the Thorvaldsen Museum from which he derived his inspirations. His pattern book from the factory is now kept at the Museum of Decorative Art (Kunstindustrimuseet) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
