An 18th century French Boulle and ormolu mounted bracket clock of shaped outline, veneered in tortoiseshell and inlaid with foliate cut brass, the ormolu and enamel dial with blue Roman numerals, the case with a group of Danaë within a shower of golden coins, the transmogrified Zeus above, the scroll feet with caryatid finials, the sides with applied mask heads, the domed top with a figure of Cupid, striking on a bell, the movement and dial signed Jacques Panier, Paris -- 28½in. high, and with the bracket (41½in. high, overall).
