A North Italian walnut cassone carved with winged dragons and scrolling acanthus, the hinged rectangular top inlaid with ebony lozenges and centred by an armorial motif, on bun feet, with carrying handles to the sides, early 18th Century, later carved -- 55in. (140cm.) wide.
