A Japanese lacquered wood tray, the overlapping rim in the shape of a tree trunk, decorated in hiramakie, takamakie, kirigane and scattered nashiji, and onlaid in ivory, horn and aogai with a seated fisherman holding a rod and a bowl before a minogame, and two figures standing on a river bank, one with a gourd slung from his belt the other with a sword through his belt, below a fruiting peach tree, all on a kinji and roironuri ground (small pieces of inlay missing, minor wear) -- 19¾in.wide.
