Lot Essay

This drawing is dedicated to Sebastien Isepp whom Kokoschka affectionately knew as Wastl. Isepp established himself as a fringe Secessionist painter in Vienna before moving to England in 1937 at much the same time as Kokoschka where he worked as a restorer until 1954.
