Following the success of architectural and ornamental museum in the Crystal Palace in Sydenham, Jones produced this book, creating the framework for a characteristically nineteenth-century style of ornament, inspiring William Morris, the Arts and Crafts Movement, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
