Original art the Avengers No. 2. At the inception of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's molding of what was to become the Marvel universe, they resurrected the Sub-Mariner, one of the key characters of the golden age of comics. Having originally appeared in Marvel's very first book (Marvel Comics No. 1 1939) the Sub-Mariner was the first sympathetic villain. This is considered one of the great examples of silver age Marvel art. Pen and ink on paper.
